BENZOPHENONE DIMETHYL ACETAL - Introduction
Benzophenone methyl acetal is an organic compound with the chemical formula C15H14O2. It is a colorless liquid with a fragrant taste.
Benzophenone dimethyl acetal is mainly used as a reagent and intermediate in organic synthesis. It can be used as a Ketal reagent for the preparation of other ketones, such as intermediates for the preparation of drugs such as benzophenone and tacrolimus. In addition, it can be used as a solvent, a bactericide, a surfactant, and the like.
Benzophenone dimethyl acetal can be prepared by reacting Benzophenone with methanol under acidic conditions. The reaction conditions require the presence of an acid catalyst, such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid.
The safety information of Benzophenone dimethyl acetal is relatively good. It has a high ignition point and can be ignited, but it is not easy to explode.
